From Franconia to Vermont
From Franconia to Vermont
We grew up in Franconia, which is the northern part of Bavaria. Our hometown, Kronach, is located approximately 200 miles north of Munich. But we currently live in the beautiful state of Vermont, one of the five US states that form New England. We relocated here because of the job, but in the meantime we call this place our home.
Vermont is known mostly for Maple Syrup, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and amazing foliage colors in the fall. But there is so much more to it!
We like to travel and spend as much time outdoors as possible. Unfortunately one major drawback of working in the US is the minuscule vacation. So our travel adventures are cut short right now...
We are lucky enough to live in an area where many people come for vacation. There is Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains within a 30 minute drive. Burlington, the largest city in Vermont, is a lively town with lots of activities year round and bigger metropolitan areas like Boston, Montreal or New York City are within easy reach.
You are looking at the newest (5th) incarnation of this homepage. We finally got around to work on an overhaul of almechd.de/net/com. Although some of the old content has been discarded, there is still plenty to discover. Check out the expanded “PHOTOS” pages.
As always, this webpage was created on Apple Macintosh computers. And this version was even designed with Apple’s iWeb software. The tool is very easy to handle and provides most of the functionality that we need. Keep it simple!
We hope you enjoy this site!
